proposition 2 to ban cages passes in California

Animal Voices radio interviews Leanne McConnachie, Director of Farm Animal Programs for the Vancouver Humane Society, regarding the passing of Proposition 2 in California.

 

Proposition 2 requires that farm animals - specifically egg-laying hens, pigs and calves - be able to stand up, turn around and extend their limbs. In other words, Proposition 2 will end the use of battery cages for hens, gestation crates for pregnant sows and veal crates for calves.
