Double your donation for needy animals!
Our McVitie Fund for sick and injured animals has once again received a tremendous boost from a donor who has a commitment to animal well-being that is truly admirable. The James A. and Donna-Mae Moore Foundation is reaching out to VHS donors with a Challenge Grant for an amazing $20,000!
This means that starting right now, every donation you give to the McVitie fund will be doubled! We are hoping to raise $10,000 before September of this year, and then to reach our $20,000 goal by January, 2013. There are always animals that need help, so we’re extremely grateful to the fund and to you, our fantastic donors, for enabling us to say “Yes, we can help!” when we get those inevitable and often heartbreaking calls.
Help us meet our goal!
This grant honours the memories of two very special women through the Irene Joy Stewart and Florence Maud Shedden Endowment for Domestic and Wild Animal Welfare, held by the above foundation. Irene Joy Stewart and Florence Maud Shedden were sisters and compassionate animal lovers who believed that mankind should respect at all times and in all ways life forms other than our own.
The Endowment established in their memory perpetuates their benevolent values by helping animals in need. The VHS along with the animals we are able to help, are extremely grateful!
If you would like to contribute to the fund, please click here. Thank you, on behalf of all the animals we help!
Jiggy is one of the sweet animals we’re helping. Jiggy’s guardian is on disability and unable to work. Because of an injury that occurred before she took him in, Jiggy desperately needs surgery on his leg, which is causing him significant pain.
We’re anxious to see Jiggy get better and back on all four feet again. Thank you for your help; not only for Jiggy, but for the many other animals VHS is able to say “yes” to each year!
