rescued cats need your help

CherishThese cats were all rescued from a situation that unfortunately, happens all too often. A cat rescuer had so many cats, that apparently the level of care for most of them was compromised. The VHS believes that an animal shelter must provide a certain standard of care. If an animal is sick or in distress, the resources must be there to deal with the situation. Good intentions alone are not enough.

The cats were removed and received treatment at a veterinary hospital. They are all going to a forever home where they will be provided with the lifetime care that they require. They are very, very sick cats, and VHS agreed to assist with the veterinary costs.

BuddhaMayAll of these cats had serious dental disease; bad teeth (which, as in humans, can be extremely painful), mouth sores and related conditions. Most of them were emaciated, suffering from malnutrition. Tooma, the tabby, is very thin and suffering from chronic diarrhea and hyperthyroidism. May, the siamese, is so ill that she may not survive. Cherish was described by the clinic as "VERY very thin". Pearl is matted and sick. They all suffered from a very contagious virus with runny nose and eyes.

ToomaMoteeThis is an unexpected expense for VHS, on top of all the other emergency medical help we provide. Can you help? Any donation towards the care of these sweet animals would be gratefully appreciated, by us and, of course, by these little angels, who deserve so much better.
