•Compare the list of participating retailers to your regular/frequent shopping habits – Are there participating retailers where you regularly shop? Do you have shopping habits that you could adjust slightly to support VHS? (E.g. Review the participating fuel retailers and if any are in your neighbourhood or on a regular and convenient commute, consider refueling regularly at that retailer through gift cards ordered through VHS.)

•Factor Fundscrip into your holiday/special occasion shopping habits – Order cards to either purchase gifts with or give as gifts.

•Monthly special promotions – these promotions increase rebates to VHS on popular retailers, meaning more funds supporting our campaign without any increased cost to you. Just another way to make the most of your regular shopping habits!

•Invite your workplace – are office supplies ordered for your workplace from any of these retailers? Contact us for an invitation letter you can pass along to your employer!

•Consider the payment methods available to you when you order – They are listed below, in order of the most effective, in terms of the rebate amount transferred to VHS:
— Online Banking Bill Payment – FREE! Pay for your orders as you would pay any other bill. There are no fees or deductions to earnings for using this payment. Please note that it can take at least three (3) business days for FundScrip to receive payment.
— Interac Online – earnings to group are reduced by $0.85 per transaction for those with accounts at the following financial institutions: RBC Royal Bank; BMO Bank of Montreal, ScotiaBank and TD Toronto Dominion.
— Credit Card – earnings to your group are reduced by 1.99%.

•Buy gift cards in bulk/higher value for regular and recurring purchases in order to most effectively support VHS! This will reduce the number of orders you need to make and the reductions to VHS’s rebate. Most supporters use regular letter mail when ordering their gift cards, which allows you to order up to 4 gift cards/$500 per envelope, for the cost of a stamp (unless you order an e-gift card). Express post is another option, which costs approx. $10 depending where in Canada the order is being sent, with no maximum for value/number of cards.
