Pride Parade 2010

We had so much fun at the Pride Parade on August 2, 2010. Once again, VHS and our escaped battery hen mascot Henny took to the streets in the Vancouver Pride Parade in August. Perched atop a rainbow-emblazoned 1947 Chrysler Town and Country, Henny and her flock of “hens” and “farmers” reached over 600,000 people with the message that cages are cruel and that battery hens should be allowed to “come out”! Thousands Chicken Out! pamphlets were handed out along the parade route, and the VHS booth attracted lots of attention at the Pride Festival. Here are a few photos from the fun day!

A special thank you to Tevie Smith and all of our wonderful volunteers for the day. We couldn’t have done this without you!
